Are Frazzles Vegetarian?

Smiths Frazzles crisps are a crunchy crisp with a distinctive look and taste – that is the look and taste of a delicious piece of bacon, so we get asked a lot “are Frazzles vegetarian?”

Frazzles are made to look like a piece of streaky bacon with its red and yellow lined effect and it has a small wave in the crisp as well to add to the effect. When you bite into these delicious crisps there is a big hit of bacon flavour too.

So are Frazzles vegetarian or not? Well if we look at the ingredients which are:

These crisps may have the sweet flavour of bacon but with most crisps there is no actual meat product inside them, it is just a flavouring created by the boffins at Smiths Crisps to give the crisps a lovely bacon flavour but without harming any animals in the process.

The bacon colour on the crisps is created using food colourings – as with nearly all snack products – and in this case the classic paprika extract has been used to give the crisps a darker red colour.
