Prawn Cocktail Flavoured Crisps

Prawn cocktail is a very strange flavour as it is not the most obvious choice as fish can be very strong. So not everyone is a fan, however, they are some of the most popular crisps we sell.

The most iconic prawn cocktail crisp of all time, and every kid under 3’s favourite snack is of course Skips. These light and fluffy crisps are eaten by kids and grownups and have a unique taste and texture, with them melting in your mouth. But if you didn’t know would you guess they were prawn flavour?

Other crisps with a much stronger version of this flavour include McCoys Sizzling Prawn and the new Quavers prawn cocktail. The McCoys crisps as you would expect have a big punchy flavour and give you a big taste buzz. The Quavers are more subtle and are a bit like the Skips as they are light and fluffy and melt in your mouth.

Packaging

Prawn cocktail crisps usually have a pink-coloured bag. It’s good that the crisp packet matches the colour we associate with the flavour. This way you are never going to accidentally pick up the wrong bag when you get your Tesco meal deal.

The prawn cocktail colour pallet is, however, totally ignored by our best-selling fish-flavoured crisp – the legendary Scampi Fries! They have a yellow bag… no idea why as scampi is not yellow in any way. We can only presume the bag is yellow as the crisps themselves are yellow. Also, they do have a slight lemon flavour to them so we will let them off on this one!

So, if you are a fan of the classic 80’s prawn cocktail or just love a bit of fish on a Friday then these crisps may be perfect for you. Skips are one of our best sellers so maybe this flavour is more popular than you would first presume.
